Terms And Conditions Of Trailer Hire
Braydon Trailers - Trailer Hire Terms and Conditions
Responsibilities of the Person Hiring the Trailer (the "Hirer")
1. Indemnification & Responsibility
The hirer agrees to indemnify Braydon Trailers Ltd (the "owner") for any and all loss and damage to the trailer while on hire. During this time, the hirer is solely responsible for the trailer, and this responsibility cannot be delegated to any third party. The hirer will not hold Braydon Trailers Ltd responsible for personal injury or damage to their property or the property of others while using the trailer.
- It is the hirer's responsibility to ensure that they, and anyone else towing the trailer, have the correct driving license for the vehicle and trailer being used.
- The hirer must also ensure that the towing vehicle is suitable for the trailer being hired.
- The hirer is responsible for determining if a tachograph is required.
2. Insurance & Security
The trailer and any goods are not insured by Braydon Trailers Ltd while in your possession. We strongly recommend arranging additional insurance cover.
- A suitable number plate must be supplied by the hirer and attached to the trailer for the duration of the hire.
- A security lock will be supplied at the start of the hire period, which must be used to secure the trailer when unattended or not in use.
3. Liability for Loss or Damage
The hirer agrees to pay Braydon Trailers Ltd the full replacement cost for any trailer lost, stolen, or damaged beyond economical repair while in their possession. This may include any potential loss of hire charges during the repair or replacement period.
- The hirer is not permitted to re-hire, sub-lease, or lend the trailer or any components to third parties.
4. Collection & Return
A day's hire is defined as 24 hours, with standard collection and returns between 10:30 am and 6:30 pm.
- Collection and return outside these hours is subject to a 20% surcharge or by prior arrangement only.
- Trailers must be returned to our premises and remain under the hirer’s responsibility until inspected by Braydon Trailers Ltd staff. Failure to adhere to this may result in forfeiture of the full deposit.
5. Refundable Damage Deposit
A refundable damage deposit of £300 (or £500 for continental use) is required for all trailer hires and must be paid prior to trailer release. The deposit will be refunded in full if:
- The trailer is returned by the agreed date and time.
- The trailer is returned in the same condition as when hired, with allowances for normal wear and tear.
- The trailer is returned clean, excluding normal wear and tear (excessive oil spillage or mud may incur a £35 + VAT cleaning fee).
- All accessories, including ratchet straps, security locks, keys, and plug adapters, are returned in the same condition as supplied. Any straps that are not returned in a usable, folded condition will incur a charge of £3.50 per strap.
During the hire period, trailers are used entirely at the hirer's own risk, including all moving parts (e.g., winches, cables, hooks, rack and pinion).
- The hirer is responsible for securing any load being carried and must assess the suitability of any straps provided.
- Braydon Trailers Ltd offers no guarantee regarding strap suitability for specific loads.
- It is in the hirer's interest to inspect the trailer thoroughly before leaving our premises. Any damages incurred, including punctures, must be covered by the hirer.
6. Cancellation Costs/Refunds
If you need to cancel your reservation of the trailer for any reason, please ensure that you give us a minimum of 48 hours' notice. In this case, we will issue a full refund of the deposit and hire cost for the reserved hire period.
- If you fail to cancel your reservation and do not collect the trailer on the collection date or at the collection time, we reserve the right to keep the full booking deposit and hire charge to cover our administration costs and to compensate for our inability to rent the trailer when it was reserved for your use.

If the customer chooses to cancel the order after the deposit has been paid, Braydon Trailers reserves the right to retain the deposit in full.
Any cancellation requests must be made in writing.
